Himachal Pradesh Current Affairs

 


India's northernmost state is called Himachal Pradesh. Its 55,673 sq km area is bordered on the north by Jammu and Kashmir, the west by Punjab, the south by Haryana, the east by Uttarakhand, and the south by the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. Pakistan and the region are separated by a shared border in the northwest.

In 1950, it was established as a union territory by combining parts of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. On November 1st, 1966, it became an official state within India.
